About Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo
Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo is a distinguished Nigerian lawyer, politician, author, and public affairs commentator from Isanlu-Isin, Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State. With over four decades of active engagement in law, governance, politics, leadership development, and community service, he is widely regarded as one of the most influential political thinkers and grassroots leaders in Kwara State.
Born on 13 August 1954, Akogun Oyedepo’s public life has been defined by principled leadership, intellectual depth, and an unwavering commitment to community development and democratic governance.
Education & Professional Formation
He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Political Science from the University of Ibadan and an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Lagos. He was called to the Nigerian Bar after completing the Barrister-at-Law (BL) programme at the Nigerian Law School.
Beyond formal legal training, Akogun Oyedepo has undertaken advanced leadership and governance programmes in Nigeria and abroad, including executive leadership training in the United States and specialised courses in legislative and democratic studies.

Akogun Oyedepo is the Principal Partner of Iyiola Oyedepo & Co (IOC LAW)., a legal practice with a long history spanning multiple decades and jurisdictions. He is also the President and Chief Executive Officer of Nations Leadership Institute (NLI), an organisation dedicated to leadership development, civic education, and nation-building.
Through both institutions, he has mentored professionals, political actors, youth leaders, and community organisers across Nigeria.
